Kingsmead Day Nursery, Chandler's Ford is situated in a quiet established residential area. It is ideally situated away from a busy road in a safe and secure environment and parking is convenient when dropping off or picking up. There is quick access to the M3, with a junction close by linking the M27.
The property stands in a large garden that is secluded and secure with a combination of high boundary walls and fencing. There are different play areas: a grass area, a rubber based play area, a hard surface area for rolling equipment, a woodland section and separate outdoor covered and garden play areas for the babies.
Continuous provision is maintained here at Kingsmead; we ensure that we provide the same level of materials and activities outdoors as well as indoors. Parents supply waterproofs and wellington boots ensuring that we can use the facilities in all weathers.
We cater for children from three months to five years of age. The nursery units are divided according to age and are fully equipped to meet their ever developing needs. As the nursery exclusively offers thirty-six places, full time and part time, we feel that we can offer a comforting family environment for your child.
At Kingsmead we promote equality of opportunity for children and their families. We seek to broaden and deepen children's experiences by following the Early Years Foundation Stage that has four core areas - A Unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments and Learning and Development. We monitor our practice and have regular meetings to discuss and decide how to improve our practice and procedure.
Kingsmead is now on the Pathfinder scheme which means that The Early Years Education entitlement is now for fifteen hours free per week during term time. The funding is provided for children aged three years and above.
Prior to children commencing nursery we arrange a minimum of two visits to help the child adjust to the nursery environment. Once the child starts, parents are welcome to contact or visit the nursery at any time.
